Student Financial Services (SFS) has an immediate opening for a Student Accounts Coordinator.  The Student Accounts Coordinator is responsible for student billing, third party billing, financial aid disbursement, tuition payment arrangements, health insurance billing and waivers, financial aid refund checks, and collections.  The Student Accounts Coordinator also assists SFS Specialists in communicating with students and their parents to provide effective customer service, including receiving, researching and appropriately responding to inquiries and/or complaints questions regarding their accounts, billing statements, College and office policies and procedures, and other related issues.

 

The Student Accounts Coordinator will analyze accounts and conduct other research as necessary to respond to inquiries and resolve questions and/or complaints; identify problems or errors in accounts; determine appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines and implement or refer for action as appropriate; process various accounting documents including, but not limited to, those related to student account refunds and payment plans, ensuring actions are in accordance with established guidelines; and assist in the preparation of special accounting reports for administrative utilization. maintain student account documentation to assist agencies in the collection of outstanding debts from graduated or withdrawn students; and maintain relevant statistics for reporting and analysis.

 

Qualified candidates must be detail oriented, have excellent data entry skills, and demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Excel), as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with various tasks and deadlines.  Strong interpersonal and communications skills are also required.  Ideally, candidates will have experience working in a college financial aid or business office, or in the financial services sector (banking, insurance, etc.) with customer service duties.  SFS personnel operate as a team in a fast-paced environment, especially during the academic year.  Ability to function as a team player with a sense of humor is a must!
