Mount Holyoke College is seeking an Assistant Director of Admission. Under the supervision of an Associate Dean of Admission, the Assistant Director will work with the Admission team to attract and enroll the most qualified undergraduate students. The individual will convey key institutional messages to prospective students and parents on- and off-campus and cultivate professional relationships with college counselors and key educational organizations.
Responsibilities include: significant recruitment travel; counseling and advising students and families regarding the admission process; conducting interviews and presentations; participating in and helping to coordinate on- and off- campus admission events, and managing a recruitment territory throughout the admission cycle. The Assistant Director will review and evaluate admission applications and participate in the selection process. Additional responsibilities may also involve coordinating ongoing projects or programs, and other duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must display a strong interest in and ability to represent a selective women’s college and an interest in working with students and their families as they navigate the admission process. A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential. We are seeking a colleague who can think strategically and problem solve. Candidates must possess excellent organizational, writing and oral communication skills; strong analytic abilities; stamina for extended travel; flexibility; and exceptional interpersonal skills. A sense of initiative and the ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects and responsibilities – both independently and on a team – are also required. Candidates must be highly reliable, detail oriented, resourceful, and demonstrate good humor.
Technical proficiency and ability to work with data are required. Qualified candidates must be adept with Microsoft Office Suite and Google.
The position requires willingness to travel for six to eight weeks per year (concentrated in the fall and spring) and night and weekend work. A Bachelor's Degree and valid driver’s license are required. One to two years of admission or similar experience are preferred, but not required.
