Mount Holyoke College has an opening for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Kitchen Assistant in its Blanchard Cafe. Hours worked are Sunday to Thursday, 4:15 pm to 12:45 am. This is an academic year (Sept.-May) position. Services may not be required when the college is not in session, (e.g., fall, mid-semester break, Thanksgiving recess, January term, mid-semester spring break).
Duties: Any assigned duties related to cleaning including china, glass, and silverware in dishroom, pots, dining rooms, floor cleaning, work tables, equipment and utensils. Any assignments as directed such as stock receiving, distribution, rotation, putting away stock and groceries, produce and dairy orders.
Job Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in the food service industry in another college or in a high volume, quality restaurant. Candidate must have the abiity to accept responsibility and willingness to exhibit initiative in the performance of duties; must be dependable, ability to communicate effectively and relate well with members of the campus community; willingness to be flexible around scheduling, and ability to perform in a satisfactory manner under pressure. Must be proficient in writtren and oral communication. Must be able to lift/move a minimum of 20 pounds and up to a maximum of 50 pounds without restrictions. ServSafe certification and completion of an allegen awareness class is required. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
