Answer emergency phone lines for three college campuses as well as multiple remote access phones; monitor fire, intrusion and environmental alarms; operate a multi-channel radio console to dispatch officers; maintain a computerized dispatch log; notify appropriate individuals/offices in emergency situations; and answer and direct incoming campus calls. On-Call Dispatchers supplement the full-time staff covering day off requests. Candidates must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Candidates must have prior dispatching experience, preferably in a police, security or fire agency; must have strong computer and data entry skills; excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; the ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities; to work independently and be able to follow established procedures. The successful candidate must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
