Mount Holyoke College seeks a part-time, assistant basketball coach. The assistant coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization, development, and daily function of the NCAA Division III program competing in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record. Strong preference will be given to candidates with at least two years coaching experience at the collegiate level. The candidate should have a desire to pursue a career in coaching and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, computer/media skills, knowledge of NCAA rules, and the ability to attract high quality student-athletes. The candidate must have a flexible schedule and possess the ability to work in a high energy, fast-paced, and constantly evolving setting.
Duties include, but are not limited to: the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; coordination of film exchange; academic monitoring; travel logistics; individual on-court instruction; team training; player management; administrative duties; assistance with team non-competition events such as community service, fundraising, and alumnae events; and assist the head coach in overseeing a program that abides by all NCAA, NEWMAC, and Mount Holyoke College rules and regulations.
Salary: $7,000 (no benefits-9 month, hourly position). Approximately $11.00/hr.
