The Department of Gender Studies at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for an open-rank position in Black Feminism, with an expected start date of July 1, 2019. We seek a scholar with expertise in black feminist theory and methodologies with a commitment to interdisciplinary studies. The position will contribute to the current strengths in the Department, which include reproductive technologies, queer/trans studies, social activism and transformative justice, visual culture studies, post-humanism, and theater studies. The Department is deeply committed to black feminist theory and praxis, and this position will showcase the foundational work of black feminism within and beyond the discipline of gender studies.

Please submit a letter of application, CV, brief writing sample (up to 25 pages uploaded as one PDF), a one-page statement of teaching philosophy/practice, a statement of research interests, and a statement on mentoring a diverse student body addressed to the search chair, Kimberly Juanita Brown.
