The Department of Dance at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Dance to begin fall 2019 with competitive salary and benefits. We are especially interested in candidates who have expertise in modern dance technique and choreography.
We will begin accepting applications on November 1, 2018. Deadline for completed applications is December 31, 2018. The successful candidate will teach all levels of modern dance technique, repertory and composition. Additional courses will draw on the candidate's areas of artistic and/or scholarly research with preference to kinesiology and anatomy for dancers. The successful candidate will attend faculty meetings, participate in Five College Dance Department activities, serve as the concert coordinator, and advise dance majors and minors. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. All candidates should have an MFA in hand by the start of the contract period.
Applications must be made online at https://jobs.mtholyoke.edu/. Candidates will submit a cover letter, CV, and three statements concerning (1) teaching philosophy, (2) research interests, and (3) a statement about mentoring a diverse student body. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of reference submitted on their behalf. We recommend early submission because electronic prompts to referees will be generated automatically (and letters of reference accepted) only after the completed application has been submitted. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
