JOB PURPOSE:

The Part Time On-Call Bus Driver is scheduled to drive college-owned vehicles including its 28 and 32 passenger buses and 7 and 8 passenger vans for college sponsored events on an as needed basis.  This position reports to the Administrative Manager, Auxiliary Services.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive college-owned vehicles for college-sponsored events both on and off campus as scheduled
  • Position may require occasional overnight trips

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 5 – 10 years of experience driving similar vehicles
  • Valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts CDL license
  • Excellent driving record
  • Must drive with care and superior judgement
  • Must be professional at all
  • Must be able to travel for overnight trips
  • Must be able to successfully complete the College’s driver credentialing program
  • Position is subject to testing under Department of Transportation controlled substance and alcohol testing requirements including pre-qualification controlled substance testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Essential job function requires sitting (driving) for long periods of time.
  • Essential job function requires operation of foot and/or hand controls.
  • Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 25 pounds. * - Consistent with its obligations under the law, the College will provide reasonable accommodation to any employee with a disability who requires accommodation to perform the essential functions of his or her job.

  • Work is normally performed driving a vehicle.
