JOB SUMMARY:

Provide support to the College’s fourteen varsity teams with regard to statistical record keeping, marketing and promotion of MHC’s student-athletes and athletics programs. 

Manage office, student staff and budget, and assist with athletic event management specifically with in-game stats and video streaming.  Record and distribute statistical information to the appropriate organizations.  Create, write, edit, and publish all athletic publications and website.  Write, edit, and submit all press releases for athletics and athletic events. Manage social media accounts. Create graphics for social media, promotional posters, and banners.

This position also serves as the department scheduler for athletic contests, chairing the department scheduling committee.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, Licensure)

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience within communications/sports information field (graduate assistant positions and internships are acceptable) or a related field. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, or other design/video production software required.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of statistical programs (E.G., Statcrew, Presto stats entry, Genius) preferred.  Experience with a website redesign.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work for this position includes some nights and weekends.
